Are you a parent or guardian of a child 11 years of age or younger? Researchers from the Canadian Center for Vaccinology are inviting parents and guardians across Canada to take part in a pilot study testing a new childhood immunization survey.

Purpose

This study is adapting the national Childhood National Immunization Coverage Survey for use in Nova Scotia — a first step toward better understanding immunization coverage locally, so that future outreach and resources can be shaped around what individual communities actually need.

About The Childhood National Immunization Coverage Survey (CNICS)

Vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect children from serious, preventable illnesses, and keeping immunization rates high across a community helps prevent outbreaks of diseases like measles and pertussis. Since the mid-1990s, Canada has tracked childhood immunization coverage through a national survey called the Childhood National Immunization Coverage Survey (CNICS). Currently, this kind of detailed coverage information isn’t available specifically for young children in Nova Scotia, which makes it hard to know which communities could most benefit from extra support accessing vaccines.
