BCG: Into the Next Century

The BCG vaccine was developed more than 100 years ago to combat tuberculosis and is the most commonly administered vaccine in human history.

Recent breakthroughs in research indicate BCG may be an unexpected tool for fighting more than just TB. This century-old vaccine shows promise in applications against type 1 diabetes, newborn sepsis, infant allergies, asthma, and more.
